Penza
Aerobatic team “RUSS” performed at the celebration of the City Day in Penza on the 15th of September.
Our friends – aerobatic team “The first flight” (“Pervyi Polet”) http://www.1polet.ru – made a flight together with us. There was a stand of aerobatic team “RUSS” on the embankment of the river Sura at Rostock, from which one could learn the information about the team, watch an impressive film about the team’s performances and make a photo in an aviahelmet. All our small guests got balloons and badges with the symbolic of the aerobatic team.
Here is an interesting parallel between the aviation history of Penza and Vyazma: In 1930 in Penza Valentina Grizodubova – the first soviet female pilot, a participant of one of the record-breaking flights, the first woman, honored with the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, Hero of Socialist Labour, - graduated from the Aviation School. In 1972 in Vyazma a famous pilot-cosmonaut and twice Hero of the Soviet Union Svetlana Savitskaya made flying training, here she also mastered jet “MiG-15” and “MiG-17”. Ekaterina Zaytseva made her first solo flight on L-39 in Vyazma on the 15th of July, 2012. It was the first time during the modern history of Russia that a girl made a solo flight on a jet aerocraft.
